  1. The book talks about how he suffered some in the social department and also with seeing distances and spatial referencing. I wouldn't have thought about those last two.
It was amazing though how well spoken he was and how great he was at reading. But how much of what he was able to read he really understood is still in question. He was only given reason and explanation for the things Ma wanted him to understand. He didn't have much space to make mistakes or test his environment and learn the way we all do in Outside.

  2. That is very true. He had a very small world to live in. So he was incredibly smart when it came to that particular world. But never had he imagined how much else was out there. That totally overwhelmed him, not only emotionally but mentally as well.

  3. How could living in one room all of your life not stunt your development? He did not know how to interact with people other than his mother, or learn to share with someone else. He did not know how it was to be loved by anyone else or that there was anyone else to be loved.

He was very smart but was not able to use his knowledge in a tangible way. His knowledge was limited to his mother's knowledge and what little tv he watched. Her knowledge did not increase, so she could not teach him about things that had transpired after her abduction.
